Schoolcraft College celebrated its 50th Anniversary in 2011. Throughout the 2011-12 academic year a variety of events and activities were held in celebration of this important milestone.
As part of Schoolcraft College’s 50th anniversary celebration we wanted to honor the college’s 50-year legacy of serving this community by recognizing the people who have created that legacy and have helped make the college and the community what it is today.
The Golden Gala event on Saturday, October 22, 2011, marked the 50th Anniversary with a special evening of celebration. The festivities included special tours, historical displays, the gala event, and ceremonial activities.

The Fall 2011 issue of the Bell Tower Magazine, the college’s alumni and friends’ magazine, provides a unique perspective on the college’s history. In addition to a pictorial timeline highlighting the school’s history, alumni, students, faculty, staff, retirees, and board members share their recollections and appreciation for Schoolcraft College through the years.
The Schoolcraft College Alumni Program sponsored a special essay project entitled “A Life Transformed” to both celebrate the stories of our alumni and to give them the chance to impact the life of a future student. Alumni were asked to submit an essay of 350 words or less describing the way in which Schoolcraft College transformed their life. One essay was selected and a $1,000 scholarship was created in honor of the winning author, Jodi Latuszek, J.D.
