Course Description
This course is a continuation of SRT 221 and recording in the digital domain. Areas of focus will include advanced mixing and editing techniques, synchronization, mastering, post-production and surround sound.

(A requirement that must be completed before taking this course.)
Course Competencies
Upon successful completion of the course, the student should be able to:
- Demonstrate specialized processing, editing and mixing techniques to improve the apparent performances of musicians and singers in a live recording.
- Demonstrate advanced effects and dynamics processing techniques used in modern recordings.
- Demonstrate common mastering techniques used for music recordings.
- Evaluate common mastering techniques for different release media.
- Demonstrate advanced synchronization techniques, including time code and resolving signals.
- Demonstrate common audio post-production techniques used for film and video productions, including ADR, Foley and original sound effects design.
- Explain common delivery specifications for music-only releases and TV/film soundtracks.
- Demonstrate the proper setup and calibration of a surround-sound monitoring system.
- Demonstrate techniques for surround-sound mixing and encoding, which adhere to film and TV industry standards of compatibility.
