A college education is one of the most important investments anyone can make. Schoolcraft College understands that students often need help to finance their education. Financial aid programs can provide students with options that may assist them in meeting educational expenses and achieving their educational goals.

A limited number of grants are awarded each academic year to students who demonstrate financial need. If you are in need of additional assistance, you may complete the General Scholarship application then “apply to” the SC Educational Grant opportunity.

Awardees and non-awardees notified: November 30, 2015 

Financial Aid refunds will begin to be released for:  

  • Fall 2015: October 9
  • Winter 2016: February 19

Next Steps

Basically there are two types of financial assistance: need-based and non-need-based aid. Need-based aid uses a formula to determine a family’s financial strength and eligibility for a program. Non-need-based aid does not consider financial strength but may take into consideration other factors such as grade-point average.

It is important to note that along with the benefits that financial aid offers, there are rights and responsibilities for the recipients. Be sure to familiarize yourself with the basic rights and responsibilities of financial aid as well as those that are specific to any type of aid you receive.
