A college education is one of the most important investments anyone can make. Schoolcraft College understands that students often need help to finance their education. Financial aid programs can provide students with options that may assist them in meeting educational expenses and achieving their educational goals.

Next Steps

Basically there are two types of financial assistance: need-based and non-need-based aid. Need-based aid uses a formula to determine a family’s financial strength and eligibility for a program. Non-need-based aid does not consider financial strength but may take into consideration other factors such as grade-point average.

It is important to note that along with the benefits that financial aid offers, there are rights and responsibilities for the recipients. Be sure to familiarize yourself with the basic rights and responsibilities of financial aid as well as those that are specific to any type of aid you receive.
