What is Early FAFSA?
The term "Early FAFSA" means that you can now file your FAFSA for your next school year 3 months earlier than you have been able to in the past. Effective with the 17-18 award year, the FAFSA will now be available October 1 and you will use financial information from two years prior.

What does completing the FAFSA early mean for Schoolcraft students?
The availability of the FAFSA beginning Oct 1 will mean that Schoolcraft will start processing and awarding 2018-19 FAFSA’s beginning in early March 2018. Once we begin the awarding process, students will need to check their SC mail account for their award notice or if the Office of Financial Aid requires additional information.
Will I have to complete the FAFSA at a new website?
No. The FAFSA will be completed at the same website, www.fafsa.gov.
