Course Description

If you are a non-native speaker of English wanting to improve your skills, this course is for you! Learn correct grammar usage, build your vocabulary, and improve and practice your listening, speaking, reading, writing and pronunciation. You will become familiar with American culture and enjoy expressing your ideas through meaningful conversations with your classmates from all over the world. Requirement: take an ESL placement test before classes start, at the Testing Center in the McDowell Building. No appointment is necessary, but you must bring your student ID number, a photo ID (e.g. driver's license, passport) and your current address (including zip code). Allow at least 1.5 hours for the test. Testing Center hours: Mon-Thurs 8am-7:30pm, Fri 8am-4:30pm, Sat 10am-2pm; call 734-462-4806 for more information.**
