ESL 3 - Multiple Skills


Course Description

Explore listening, reading, speaking and writing skills and practice multiple aspects of English language in this first of two intermediate level ESL courses. Learn vocabulary, idioms, grammar patterns, and sentence structures. Practice formal and conversational English. Read short articles and discuss your opinions in class. Write short paragraphs on various topics. Prerequisite: completion of at least two courses at the ESL 2 level with a minimum grade of 2.0 in each, or completion of the ESL Placement Test with a score of 71 or higher. The Testing Center in the McDowell Building requires no appointment, but you must bring your student ID number, a photo ID (e.g. driver's license, passport) and your current address (including zip code). Allow at least 2.5 hours for the test. Testing Center hours: Mon-Thurs 8am-7:30pm, Fri 8am-4:30pm, Sat 10am-2pm; call 734-462-4806 for more information.**
