ESL 5 - Multiple Skills


Course Description

Develop fluency in your listening, reading, speaking and writing skills. Your ability to converse spontaneously and fluently with native speakers will improve by learning and practicing new vocabulary, idioms and typical conversation patterns. Through a wide variety of formal and informal language tasks, you will also gain confidence in your ability to communicate and compete in the college classroom or at work. Prerequisite: completion of CES 7262 - ESL 4 Multiple Skills with a minimum grade of 2.0, or completion of the ESL Placement Test with a score of 115 or higher. The Testing Center in the McDowell Building requires no appointment, but you must bring your student ID number, a photo ID (e.g. driver's license, passport) and your current address (including zip code). Allow at least 2.5 hours for the test. Testing Center hours: Mon-Thurs 8am-7:30pm, Fri 8am-4:30pm, Sat 10am-2pm; call 734-462-4806 for more information.**
