This spring, the Continuing Education and Professional Development department is offering a new class, Genealogy: Digging Deeper. With so much information available online and at the library, researching your family history has never been easier. This class will explore key resources, including census records and newspapers, online tools and databases, and successful research methodologies. Students will also learn about primary resources available at county courthouses, archives, and other genealogical collections.

Geneaology: Digging Deeper will be led by instructor Kris Rzepczynski. Now a Senior Archivist at the Archives of Michigan, Kris previously worked for 12 years at the Library of Michigan as the Michigan/Genealogy Coordinator. Kris has presented at national, state, and local genealogy conferences, and is a member of the Board of Directors for the Federation of Genealogical Societies and a Past President of the Mid-Michigan Genealogical Society.

Genealogy: Digging Deeper is a four-week class and begins Thurs. May 15. Cost for the class is $49 ($39.20 for seniors).
