The cost of tuition at Schoolcraft College is considerably less than attending a four-year college or university, but many students still need financial assistance. That’s where the scholarship opportunities available through the Schoolcraft College Foundation can really help.
Students can now apply online for scholarships for the 2017-18 academic year, and the improved application system makes it easier for students to apply.
According to Mary Holaly, scholarship coordinator for the Schoolcraft College Foundation, there are more than 130 different scholarships distributed by the Foundation. Each scholarship has unique criteria, and there are scholarships to fit the needs of most students based on their area of study, interests, academic success or ability to overcome hardships. Holaly said that these scholarships are invaluable because many students depend on them to help make it through school. The Schoolcraft College Foundation was able to distribute more than $350,000 in scholarships to qualifying students in 2016-17.
Students who apply and qualify for the Schoolcraft College Foundation scholarships after Feb. 1 will be able to use the funds for the 2017-2018 academic year. The online scholarship application is available at http://scf.schoolcraft.edu/applying
