Restaurant serves up themed dinners nightly
The American Harvest Restaurant is pleased to announce a new way for patrons to enjoy the delicious offerings of the restaurant. Each week the unique cuisine of a different international region will be featured through four different styles of dining.
Halloween Concert Oct. 28th
The annual Halloween Concert will be held Sunday, October 28 at 7 p.m. at Radcliff Center in Garden City. This family-friendly concert and is free and open to the public. In addition to the performances by the Wind Ensemble and Synthesizer Ensemble there will be a children’s costume parade. Everyone is encouraged to attend in costume and join the fun! Refreshments will follow the performances and parade.
Premier craft show Nov. 8 & 9
Just in time for the holiday season, Schoolcraft College’s annual fall craft show is set for Saturday, Nov. 8, 9:30 a.m. - 4 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 9, 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. Parking is free. Admission is $2 for adults and children 12 and older, 50 cents for children five to twelve, and children under five are admitted free.

Student aims for health care career
For Mansi it’s all about helping people. “I’m studying nursing because it’s a field that gives you a chance to really help others with the realities of life,” she said. A student at Schoolcraft College since her move from India to the United States in, 2004, Mansi has been hard at work on an associate degree in nursing.

A more mature outlook and greater appreciation for what it takes to work and go to school are assets Cory Hamlin says he has received during his first year at Schoolcraft.
Karen Owens—Culinary Alum plans to continue education
A love of cooking and Schoolcraft’s affordability inspired Karen Owens to continue her education after attending Oakland University. Schoolcraft is one of the five top culinary arts schools in the nation.

The Aviation Management program at Schoolcraft provides broad exposure and knowledge opportunities in key areas of aviation. It is designed for students beginning aviation studies and for those individuals already employed in the field who would like to enhance their knowledge and skills.
Massage Therapy professional opportunities grow
Massage therapy is a growing field, branching out into specializations such as newborn and infant massage, massage for hospice or Alzheimer’s patients, or in rehabilitation work. Many health care professionals combine massage training with a career in nursing or occupational therapy. Schoolcraft offers both a certificate and associate degree program in massage therapy.
Avalon Quartet to perform Nov. 9
On Nov. 9 the college will once again play host to the area’s classical music lovers. The concert, featuring the Avalon String Quartet, begins at 7:30 p.m. in the Presentation Room in VisTaTech. Regarded as “one of the most exciting young string quartets in America,” by the Washington Post, the quartet has established itself as one of the country’s leading chamber ensembles.
