"The Celestial Harmony" free concert celebrates 50th Anniversary of Schoolcraft College

On Friday, October 21, 2011, the Schoolcraft College Wind Ensemble, Choral Union, and Synthesizer Ensembles will perform a free concert at 7:30 p.m. at the Radcliff Center in Garden City. One of the featured selections to be performed is the college's official song, "Look Ever Upward."

International Institute presents "The African American Experience" on November 2

Juanita Moore, President and CEO, Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History will be on campus Wednesday, November 2, 2011, to discuss the African American journey through time. The presentation is free and open to the public and will begin at 11:30 a.m. in the McDowell Center.

Community invited to participate in Mini-Relay for Life on October 24

In honor of Schoolcraft College’s 50th Anniversary, students are giving back to the community by sponsoring and participating in a Mini-Relay for Life to raise funds for the American Cancer Society. On Monday, October 24, 2011, from 6 – 11 p.m. students, along with staff, family, friends, and the community, will be walking the main campus in Livonia.

Fans are welcome to attend a very special Meet the Author Event, sponsored by Pageturners, on Wednesday, November 2, 2011. Dr. Roger M. Ajluni will discuss his recent book, Gospel of a Cab Driver, at 1:15 p.m. in the VisTaTech Center.

Schoolcraft College offering free Defense Industry Training as part of consortium

Veterans and unemployed, dislocated and underemployed workers can qualify for free Defense Industry Training at several area colleges, including Schoolcraft College, through a grant from the Department of Labor. Two sessions begin in November, CNC Operator and Business Communications After Being Downsized. More sessions are scheduled to begin in January, 2012.
