"Biodiversity--The Variety of Living Things on Our Planet" is the theme for this year's actvities to be held on Tuesday, April 10 from noon - 4 p.m. on the college's main campus in Livonia.

Soprano, Martha Guth, and pianist, Jean Schneider, perform free concert April 18

On Wednesday, April 18, Schoolcraft College will host a free concert by Martha Guth, soprano, and Jean Schneider, piano. The concert will be held at noon in the VisTaTech Center on the college's main campus in Livonia. This is the final performance in the 2011-12 Noon Concert Series.

On Wednesday, April 18 Schoolcraft College is hosting a Career Open House for high school students. From 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. guests can visit with professionals in dozens of career fields and learn how high school and college classes relate to to real jobs.

Annual Collage Concert, April 28, showcases four music ensembles

The 21st annual Schoolcraft College Collage Concert, Collage XXI, will be held Saturday, April 28 at 8 p.m. in the VisTaTech Center on the college's main campus in Livonia. Tickets are $8.00 for adults, $5.00 for students with identification, and $3.00 for children and seniors.

Schoolcraft College's Choral Union, Jazz Improvisation Combo, Jazz Ensemble, and Synthesizer Ensemble will all be hosting concerts in April. The performances are free and open to the public. Donations are accepted at the door and are used to help fund concerts like these and other programs provided by the college's Music Department.

Virginia Froehlich, local gardening expert, will present, " Plants that will Make You Itch and Make You Twitch...and Maybe Even Kill You!" at the Transition Center Luncheon on Friday, April 13. Reservations, $20 per person, must be made by April 6.

On Tuesday, April 10, 2012, award-winning author Marty Essen presents his high-energy multi-media show, Around the World in 90 Minutes, at Schoolcraft College as part of the college's annual Earth Day celebrations. Essen's show is free and open to the public and will begin at 1 p.m. in the VisTaTech Center on the college's main campus in Livonia.

Perennial favorite, pianist Lori Sims, performs April 20

In the final installment of the 2011-12 Friday Evening Concert Series pianist Lori Sims will perform The Goldberg Variations and BWV 988 by Johann Sebastian Bach on Friday, April 20. The concert will begin at 8 p.m. in the Presentation Room of the VisTaTech Center on Schoolcraft College's main campus in Livonia. Tickets are $20 per person, $10 for students with identification.

Schoolcraft College returned home from the 2012 International Phi Theta Kappa Conference with several prestigious awards. Dr. Conway A. Jeffress was presented the Shirley B. Gordon Award of Distinction. Michael J. Wisniewski, Jr. was named as one of the Top Ten Regional Officers. Elaine Langlois, was named one of only 30 Distinguished Members of PTK
