Our campus is a safe place to learn and grow, but all student should know how to get information about closures, emergencies or how to report concerns.
Annual Security Report
Want to know just how safe you are on campus? You can find out by reading the annual report published by our Campus Police.
Campus Police
You’ll see Schoolcraft College Police Department Officers on duty 24-hours a day, seven days a week. In the event of an emergency call 734-462-4424 or 911. They can investigate crimes, assist with medical emergencies, and more .
Cancellations and Closings
We know how important your education is, and we will make every effort to ensure classes are held as scheduled, but please remember:
- Some programs/course may require a minimum number of students enrolled ensure the learning activities in the class can be accomplished.
- The college may change the day, time or location of classes.
- If an instructor originally scheduled to teach a class becomes unavailable and the college is unable to find another instructor for that class, the college reserves the right to cancel that class.
- Classes cancelled on a one-time basis during the semester due to instructor illness can be found on the Cancellations and Closings web page.
- College cancellations due to weather or other emergency will be announced via SC alerts and shared on media/social media. Weather conditions can vary, even over a small geographic area. Students must exercise their own judgment concerning safety, whether the college is open or closed.
Emergency Notifications and Timely Warnings

- Emergency notifications are triggered by an event that is currently occurring or imminently threatening the campus.
- Timely warnings are issued when one of the Clery reportable crimes has been committed within our Clery geography and represents a serious and continued threat to the campus community.
Lost and Found
Any items you may find on campus need to be turned into Campus Police. If you lose something, contact Campus Police to see if your item has been turned in.
Parking and Traffic
Students are required to follow the traffic regulations with respect to speed and parking that are posted on campus. Parking lots on campus are lined, and vehicles must park within the designated spaces. Several parking locations are designated handicapped or staff and faculty parking only. Any vehicle that is parked improperly will be ticketed. No parking is permitted on any college street.
Report and Incident or Concern
The college uses an online reporting tool for tracking and responding to complaints and incidents of concern on campus such as or threatening behavior or wellbeing concerns. Student appeals are also handled in this system.
Unattended Children / Minors
The college has rules related to children / minors being on campus. Before bringing one to campus, please be familiar with our policy.

Schoolcraft College has partnered with IHA Urgent Care to offer medical services for non-life threatening situations on our campus.
