Words of Gratitude

An American flag background with an overlay of text and stars that reads Thank You Veterans

Thank you Veterans.
The Schoolcraft community honors those who have served by sharing their words of gratitude.

It’s an honor to work with such an amazing group of individuals each day! Thank you for your service and sacrifices so that we can live in a free country.

Cheryl Hagen, Vice President of Student Services

My grandfathers, aunt, uncle, and 2 cousins have proudly served, each in a different branch of the military. My aunt died 5 years ago due to health complications from unknowingly handling agent orange during her time in the Air Force during the Vietnam War. She never took a penny from her earned veteran’s benefits, saying the honor was serving her country, and she knew her life was at stake then and now. Our gratitude can never match the sacrifices willingly made by our Veterans.
Haley Mulka, Admissions

As a Daughter, Sister, Sister-in-law, Aunt and Friend to many veterans, I realize the sacrifice & commitment that they have given.  I just want to express my deep gratitude to all that are serving or have served our country!  Be safe!

I am a Veteran of the US Army and was in the last graduating “class” of the Women’s Army Corp (WAC).  Having enlisted in the ‘70’s, just after Vietnam and when patriotism was publicly scorned, it’s wonderful now to see that service members are getting the respect they truly deserve.
Ann Prenger, Continuing Education and Professional Development

Thank you to those of you who serve, have served, or are supporting someone who serves in the military.  It’s such a priceless gift to have a safe and free country in which to raise our families and live our lives.
Julie Hill, Career Services and the Hinkle Center

Your brave service allows the rest of us to live in the land of the free. Thank you for your courage and dedication to this nation.

Words cannot express how much I appreciate all of the men and women who have or are currently serving our country. Not only by putting their own lives on the line, but also sacrificing time with their own loved ones to fight for the freedoms that we have. I am proud to say that my cousin is actively serving in the Army and have another close family friend who is currently deployed. Thank you for your courage, strength and sacrifice.
